The Positive Approach to Caring for Persons with Dementia
Description: This interactive class will showcase the philosophy of Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care™, a world-renowned dementia care specialist and her techniques which will help you connect with, as well as comfort, a person living with dementia.
- Learn new approaches and how to respond to a person’s change in cognition in a positive way.
- Learn about care partnering techniques, challenging behaviors as well as vision and brain changes.
Presenters:
Sheila Ohstrom - Shelia is the President of Senior Home Care & Alzheimer’s Solutions, a companion company specializing in Dementia care that she started in 2010 after dealing with her personal experiences with family and friends and her desire to find qualified people to help keep loved ones in their own homes for as long as possible. Sheila is a certified Teepa Snow Trainer, Consultant, and Engagement Specialist.
Bernadette Tripp - Bernadette is a certified Dementia Care Training Specialist, schooled under Teepa Snow, the world’s renowned leading advocate in dementia care and the creator of the Positive Approach to Care™. Currently, she is training healthcare professionals to learn new strategies to change the culture of people living with this disease, focusing on what remains instead of what is lost.
